The $100 laptop project and TeleRead

One Laptop per Child's $100 laptop project would benefit from TeleRead-style national digital library systems. A TeleRead approach would promote literacy in the Third World and help nurture local writers and publishers. The key is to keep costs down and usability up and integrate national and global efforts with schools, other local institutions and nonprofit organizations.
